Is The Pope A Sociopath?

Sociopath, noun. A person who lacks a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience; unconcerned about the adverse consequences for others of one's actions.

This is not a flippant question lightly posed, nor a potent word placed in a headline to grab attention. It is what came to mind when reading recent stories about the catholic church and its continued coverups of sexual abuse within its walls. I actually first had those thoughts about Pope Benedict in July of 2007.

Back then I was struck by the juxtaposition of two stories from the news. The first was on July 11, 2007, when the pope "reasserted the primacy of the Roman Catholic Church, approving a document released Tuesday that says other Christian communities are either defective or not true churches and Catholicism provides the only true path to salvation." You can read the story in greater detail here.

The Roman Catholic Church cites apostolic succession, and claims that the papal lineage traces back to the apostle Peter, whom Christ called the rock upon which he would build his church. But what of the other eleven apostles (not to mention the numerous disciples)? Were they lesser men vested with lesser power and authority paving a lesser path to the kindgom of heaven? No one who truly understands Christ would ever believe so.

I thought it a rather bold declaration, since Christ repeatedly teaches that 'whoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted." Luke, 14:11.

And I found it especially moreso just a few days later when on July 15, 2007 it was announced that the archdiocese of Los Angeles was paying 660 million dollars to more than 500 sexual abuse victims. You can read that story here. That's an awful lot of alms, and not how the faithful who cast them into the collection plates were expecting they would be spent by their stewards.

When he made his statement on catholic primacy, Pope Benedict simply had to be aware that the church was about to pay a whopping two thirds of a BILLION dollars to rape case settlements, yet when he should have been dropping to his knees with his hands clasped in remorse and sorrowful prayer he was instead raising them to the sky. Christ warned of wolves who would come in sheep's clothing, and just such devils are pedophiles who become priests that prey; yet when the pope should have been calling on Christ to cast the devils out of His house, he was instead using it to provide them safe harbor. That is why the notion that he might be a sociopath first came to my mind.

Now the BBC has revealed that 'the Pope played a leading role in a systematic cover-up of child sex abuse by Roman Catholic priests, according to a shocking documentary to be screened by the BBC tonight. In 2001, while he was a cardinal, he issued a secret Vatican edict to Catholic bishops all over the world, instructing them to put the Church's interests ahead of child safety.'

Surely he's read where Christ said that nothing is secret that shall not be known and come abroad.

Jesus also taught that bringing harm to a child is about the worst thing a man can do. 'Then said he unto his disciples, It is impossible but that offenses will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.' Luke 17:1-2.

One wonders if these verses are in the Bible the pope reads. Really. And if they are, has he read them. Really. And if it is true that he was complicit in the coverup, and therefore become an accessory to the crimes as they were perpetuated, and doing so with such fearless and blatant disregard for the Bible he preaches, isn't that acting like a sociopath?

'Beware the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.' Luke 12:1.

Biblical Proof That True Christians Support Health Care Reform (Part 9)

As health care reform heads to Sunday’s vote, WTBN talk radio Christians continue to be dragged kicking and screaming, when according to my understanding they should be embracing and insisting upon it. Just now I heard the well known lying, racist hypocrite Malkin, who openly consorts with nazis, and Janet Mefferd railing against it, and saying that, God willing, it will be struck down tomorrow.

If we truly were a Christian nation, with the best health care on earth, we’d not only take care of our own, we’d share it with everyone, knowing that then God would bless America for giving generously of her gifts.

I opened my Bible and that’s exactly what happened two thousand years ago when the world discovered that Jesus Christ in Israel was the greatest doctor anywhere.

Matthew 4:24  And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

Did you catch that, townhall.com and Fox News and all you other right wing compassionate conservative 'Christian' crazies? He healed the LUNATICS. He could help you.

He really got around, too. Check out some of the countries he visited.

Matthew 8: 28-34 ‘And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? Art thou come hither to torment us before the time? And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding. So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.’

Matthew 14: 34-36 ‘And when they were gone over into the land, they came into the land of Gennesaret. And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased; And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.’

Matthew 19: 1-2 ‘And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judaea beyond Jordan; And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.’

Mark 7: 31 ‘And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis. And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him. And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue; And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, be opened. And straightway his ears were opened and the string of his tongue was loosed, and spake plain.’

Many also came from afar.

Matthew 15: 22 ‘ And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to the dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.’

Mark 7: 25-28 'For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet: The woman was a Greek, a Syrophenician by nation; and she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter. But Jesus said unto her, let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs. And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under the table eat of the childrens’s crumbs. And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the devil is gone out of thy daughter.'

Look what he did for a Roman.

Matthew 8:5-10 ‘And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to them that followed, Verily, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.’

So if a Syrophenician woman brought you her sick daughter, would you treat her? Jesus did. He didn't just heal wealthy Americans with bullet proof insurance policies--He healed them ALL.
