How Republicans Are Fulfilling Biblical Prophesy

I recently came across this nonsense in The Christian Science Monitor, an article entitled: Would Global Warming Be So Bad? (For the curious, you can read a brief history of Christian Science by reading chapter eight of DRIFTING WITH JESUS, which I have posted here.)

Last month it was the Resisting The Green Dragon idiocy that I wrote about, and last week the sputum spouting liar Tucker Carlson at Fox ‘News’ seized on the recent blizzard as proof that climate change is a hoax and a lie. This was a day after he professed himself a Christian in the subject of a sentence, then pronounced that Michael Vick should have been executed for his dog-killing crimes with the predicate, should you be curious to Carlson’s credibility.

These ‘Christian’ attacks on the validity of climate change science are absurd, and truly not Christian at all. Condoning the destruction of the earth is disrespect of God, period. If you spent months planting, watering and tending a garden only to have your children chop it down, trample it into the ground and set it on fire, would you chasten or reward them? It’s not difficult to imagine. Notwithstanding, any true Christian familiar with the Scriptures knows and fears the starkly accurate prophecies regarding the destruction of the earth in the latter days. But since many Christians don’t actually read the Bible, I thought I’d give a brief rundown of a few as pertaining to climate change. At the end of each prophecy I’ve included a link to a video that demonstrates how these prophecies are coming to pass even now. The focus here is on the prophecies that appear in Revelation, so for the sake of logic I’m just going to take them in order.

The prophecies really begin in Revelation 6:2-8, which describes the famous four horseman of the Apocalypse—Conquest, War, Famine and Death. The latter three are pretty self-explanatory as pertaining to end times prophecy. As to Conquest, I have written a longer piece offering my interpretation of that, which you can read by following this link.

Next is Revelation 6:12. And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood.

Black sun:

Blood moon:

Revelation 8:7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth, and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

Revelation 8:9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died.

Revelation 8:10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; and the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died because of the waters, because they were made bitter.

Revelation 9:7-10 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails; and their power was to hurt men five months.

Revelation 16:8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

Revelation 16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues; and they repented not.

Revelation 16:21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

Revelation 18:3 For all nations have drunk of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.

Revelation 18:9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning.

Now, some of these are acts of Nature, and God, but many are the works of the hands of men, and those are driven by one thing—money. Since the Bible teaches us that the love of money is the root of all evil. 1 Timothy 6:10; using syllogistic logic we can conclude that these are works of the Devil. The driving force behind money is big business (see the aforementioned ‘merchants of the earth’), wherefore big business seeks representation in and control of world governments. And that is where the Republican party comes in. Once a political ideology, the Republican party has morphed into the beholden servants of big business. They claim to be the party of family values, and fiscal responsibility, and Jesus Christ, but they are liars, and will say and do anything for votes.

The Republicans one item agenda this election was extending tax cuts for the wealthy. Beyond that their only concerns are opposition to universal health care, as it interferes with the interests of big business health care; and defanging and removing environmental regulations, which interfere with the big business of oil and energy; and ignoring the foreclosure crisis they created, in the interest of the big business of legally stealing homes; and opposition to Wall Street reform, because it interferes with the big business of the filching financial industry; and authorizing the unjustified invasions of two sovereign nations to benefit the big business of the war profiteers in the industrial military complex. And all this while preaching austerity for the middle and lower class as the way to address the massive national debt which the Republicans created, and just increased. That is shameless hypocrisy.

Many Republicans call themselves Christian, but just like the Devil, they are liars. Otherwise their concerns would be helping their less fortunate fellow Americans in the areas of housing, health care, job creation, education and feeding the millions who go hungry every day—just the general welfare of the people that the Bible calls their ‘brothers and sisters.’ And if they were truly Christian they wouldn’t fix themselves squarely at the wrong end of powerful scriptures.

In Luke 17:1 Jesus warned: It is impossible that offenses will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

I would say that destroying the earth, and bombing innocent civilians, and oppressing the poor qualify as offenses.

Furthermore, if they were truly Christian they would be deathly afraid of this scripture in Revelation 11:18. And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.
